Mar. 12th, 2011 11:04 pmI think I need to have a good sit down debate with myself about what gets written on me next, and where, and just how much I want to try and fit into that little workable space I have.
Input is welcome. Do I try and squeeze three sets of lyrics onto my somewhat skinny arms, or go with two? Or do I leave it with one because two lots on one arm would be overdoing it? Any leftover space once I'm out of lyric room is getting filled in with autumn leaves, roses and ivy, in a pattern I have yet to determine, and having three sets of lyrics will make that infinitely more difficult to get something that looks good.
On the other hand, lots of songs I've been clinging to for years now just to try and keep me afloat. Fair few songs that have literally changed my life. Songs that I know I'm going to carry with me long after these scars have faded and the memories have lost their sting.
And also, if I'm getting another set of lyrics on my left arm - which way up? so I can read it and it'll be upside down to everyone else, or the other way around? I guess that depends on the lyric, really.
And then that leads to the question of the other arm. Can't have that one done nearly so neatly, on account of the two fucking huge scars hogging most of the space. The temptation is to use a different font, one that would take better to being written much smaller, and fill the entire forearm area with lines, all butting up against each other, and then do the flowers and leaves stuff on the other side, so that at least matches some. Except I'm not sure I could deal with them not matching. Except that they don't in any way match at the moment, and it doesn't bother me.
That and I have no idea if writing finely enough that I could get four or more different lines of lyrics going in different directions and crossing each other is even possible without it bleeding all over the place and winding up illegible.
And this is all before I actually nail down a concrete choice of lyrics. For any of them. Since I have several notebook pages of potential words.
Oh, and if I can make my damn mind up, the next work I'm getting done will be this coming Friday. See if I can't make something good of a bad day.
