Sims2 is working, thanks to a graphics update, a tantrum, some empty threats involving third floor windows and flying computers, and Stef getting in there and fixing it, because she does that.

Sims3 pretty much worked ok for about two hours, and then crashed and has since refused to load. This is after two WEEKS of trying every fix and mod and kludge in the book to try and make it work.

I'll try again in a year or so. Hopefully by then a few more of the holes will have been patched up. Until then, it seems I'm back to sims2, complete with the universal body type, less interesting personalities, and minimal customization, but far, far fewer problems.
